Founded by Dr Pip Nelson in 1999. He obtained a PhD in Quantitative Genetics at the University of North Carolina in 1968 on being awarded a Rockefeller Scholarship. Dr Nelson produced maize hybrids and OPVs in Zimbabwe, South Africa and internationally for Ciba Geigy. He was one of South Africa's most recognized maize breeders at local and international level. By 2016, his hybrids had achieved over 400 000 mt of sales throughout much of the African continent.
